We here at PKC central have been busting moves to Europe's stirring hair-rock anthem 'The Final Countdown', as it is only 4 weeks till we kick the Canberra event off in fine style at Knightsbridge. Be sure to get to the venue in Mort St Braddon early to sort a seat, and check
the tunes from the Knightsbridge DJs (details on those to come soon!) before presentations kick off at 7pm. Remember that PKC is a free event, and seats are allocated on a first come/first served basis. We’d hate to have you view proceedings from the pavement, but latecomers may have to do just that!
And it's 1 week to go for submissions!
That's right, interested parties have just one week to lodge your presentation submission before the September 12 deadline. Send us a brief written explanation of what you want to present (no more than 100 words), a short bio, and up to 5 low-res (72dpi) images that would form part of your presentation to pechakuchacanberra@gmail.com. We’ll keep your submission on file, so if you’re not selected for PKC Vol 01, you may be selected for future events. As you can imagine, curating PKC is a pretty significant and inspirational part of the process for us, and we’re loving what we’re seeing!
Something else to remember is that Pecha Kucha is not another stuffy forum where tired stars of the profession wax lyrically to and for themselves; it’s a democratic system that encourages all-comers. We’re not interested in glowing CVs and references from Koolhaus, we’re interested in ideas. So keep them coming, students, beginners, chancers, schemers and pros alike!
